Decrease in Grapefruit
September 24, 2008

In the USDA's most recent tree count survey, the grapefruit planting in Florida were at the lowest level since the first biannual survey in 1966. The primary reason for the decline is the increase of the effects of the citrus diseases, citrus greening and citrus canker. The survey indicates the grapefruit plantings to be at 23,000 ha.
